PSN Guidance and Counselling

Welcome to PSN careers website.

Parents and students can make appointments to see the guidance counsellor by dropping in to the office or telephoning the school office.

Any queries arising from college applications and related issues such as Disability Access Route applications (DARE) or Higher Education Access Route (HEAR ) applications can be dealt with by the guidance counsellors. We are also available for advice on subject choice, study or other educational issues. Parents or students who are concerned about school attendance, anxiety or stress are very welcome to contact the Guidance Office.

Important reminders
CAO
CAO applications are currently being completed. Deadline is the 20th of January for online applications at the 30 euro fee. All students are encouraged to complete their application by that date.

DCU has a CAO information evening on Tuesday the 17th January from 6 pm inthe Nursing Building. See www.dcu.ie for more information

DARE and HEAR

Information on applying for the Disability Access Route to college (DARE) or the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) is available from the guidance office. Other sources of information are

• the website www.accesscollege.ie.
• Maynooth University DARE/HEAR advice Clinics on Saturday 14th January from 10.00am until 2pm.
• DIT also has a DARE /HEAR clinic on the 14th taking place in the Aungier St building, from 10.00am to 2 pm.
